We make value contribute once again
At Gerescal, we work to transform the way the footwear and textile industry understands and manages its waste.
We emerged from within the footwear sector because we understand its challenges, its processes, and the opportunities that remain to be seized.
We were founded by the industry, for the industry
GERESCAL is a non-profit entity—as specified by regulation—established as a Collective Extended Producer Responsibility System (SCRAP) specializing in footwear and textiles.
Nacimos en 2022 desde el propio sector del calzado con una idea clara: la gestión del residuo no puede limitarse a cumplir una obligación, tiene que servir para aprovechar mejor los recursos, reducir lo que se pierde y avanzar hacia una industria más circular.
That is why we work alongside companies, manufacturers, distributors, brands, authorized waste managers, institutions, and consumers to build solutions that allow materials to once again provide value.
Because nothing of value deserves to be lost
For years, we have understood waste as the end of a product. But the end of a useful life doesn’t have to mean the end of its value.
Materials, resources, and opportunities can remain part of the system if we promote their eco-design and find the most appropriate way to recover, repair, reuse, or transform them.
At GERESCAL, we work to set that value back in motion.
Circularity is not just about managing what is left over. It consists of finding new ways to design, produce and take advantage of what you can still contribute.
We turn responsibility into action
We support companies in the responsible management of footwear and textile waste, and we develop the systems necessary to ensure that this management is collective—as well as increasingly efficient, traceable, and circular.
We coordinate the various stakeholders involved in the process and work to promote the collection, sorting, reuse, repair, and recycling of waste, always seeking the best method for resource recovery.
